The Ladies.

Doris, Robs other half, an immaculate 2007 BMW R1200GS Adventure. Will undergo full valet every few days, or straight after any rain. So hopefully that wont happen!?

The ladies during our recent Scotland Tour.

GiGi, mine, 2010 BMW R1200GS Adventure. I promise to clean her when I get back.

The Plan.

We are planning to camp for 2/3 nights then find a Hotel for a night to charge netbooks and phones etc, and to get a decent bed and shower.
Extra power sockets have been fitted to Doris and GiGi to charge stuff on the move. Satnavs are being utilised for routes but it's going to be a fluid plan regarding the route so nothing set in stone!.

Dover will be the first location, getting across the channel and into France overnight, then riding down to Charleville Mezieres for the night. Then onto Baden-Baden and the famous B500 through the Black Forest.
Then it gets a bit fluid, but the idea is to go through Germany,Austria,Slovenia,Slovakia, Hungary,Roamania,Bulgaria and into Turkey and Istanbul!
The return through Greece, Italy and France.

An idea blossoms.

When I retired in early March and bought my brand new BMW R1200GS Adventure, it was my intention to do another road trip following on from my Morocco trip a couple of years ago.
Fancied going further into Europe this time and decided on Romania.

Was I to travel alone or rope in another keen traveller to share the experience and have a laugh with as well. Well Rob didn't need any convincing and was up for it straight away.  Then over initial planning in Robs kitchen over many cups of coffee, Rob said (while pouring over paper maps and google earth),"How cool would it be to go to Istanbul and cross into Asia before turning around."

That was it!! Destination Istanbul.
